The Company:
Limerick Racecourse is now seeking applications for the position of a Business Development & Marketing Manager.
Reporting directly to the Racecourse General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate, who is
interested in working in a busy commercial environment within the Sporting and Hospitality sectors. Limerick Racecourse
operates from modern facilities located at Greenmount Park, County Limerick. The Racecourse opened its doors in October
2001 to over 18,000 racing fans on its inaugural race day. The seventh location for Limerick races since 1790, the track is
built on a 400-acre site of an old stud farm on the outskirts of Limerick City. Home to racing under both codes all year round,
highlights are the Munster National in October, the four-day Christmas Festival and the Student Raceday.
The Role:
Responsible for all marketing of race and non-race events as well as attracting new sponsors, customers and events through
effective and professional marketing campaigns.
The successful candidate will be required to produce periodic marketing reports on all activity and proposals for suggested
campaigns to work towards strategic business goals and targets.
Develop professional marketing material in a timely manner working with designers and printers to create innovative
informative collateral keeping branding standards always in focus.
Developing, contributing to, and editing the company’s website and all social media streams as an advertising tool.
Skills and experience
Essential
At least 2-3 years in a similar role
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational and administration and skills
Ability to work on own initiative essential
Excellent attention to detail
Must have a full clean driving licence
Experience using:
A CMS, ideally WordPress
Google Analytics
An email marketing tool, ideally Mail Chimp or similar
Duties include, but are not limited to:
The company CRM system manager
The company Social Media administrator including all digital marketing activity and maintaining of Company
website
Identification of continuous improvement projects within the systems, ultimately scoping and executing minor IT
projects, including liaison with external software companies
Arranging internal meetings and conferences
Management of product literature
General marketing administration & monitoring of marketing budget
Coordinating editorials & advertisements in the various media/publications
Capability to be a public relations representative that provides journalists with content for editorial features, fields
media enquiries and where appropriate develop responses/statements in association with the General Manager.
Organizing & coordinating race days/exhibitions/trade shows
Administrator point of contact for clients and suppliers when required
Desired
University degree with digital or marketing focus preferred
Experience with paid advertising and marketing campaigns
Experience with email automation
Experience of working in a busy and responsible position
Previous Experience of managing a CRM software system
Excellent PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Basic Accounts knowledge
Adaptable and flexible
A good understanding of the racing industry
Knowledge of photography and graphic design
Knowledge of applying sustainability principles
Management of digital channels

SEO management, including:
Keyword rankings
Population of metadata
Competitor research
Blog writing
Core web vitals
Website maintenance and user experience
Tracking website leads
Ensure all content meets the requirements set by Limerick Race Course brand, style and tone of voice guidelines
Social media copywriting
Develop and deploy paid advertising, remarketing and PPC campaigns
Tracking and improving client and candidate journey across digital channels
Analytics and reporting
Work to set and monitor quarterly and yearly targets for the performance of digital channels
Collect and analyse data across the website and paid advertising to inform future strategy and development
Events management
Planning and execution of both digital and in-person events
Promotion of upcoming events using Eventbrite, email marketing and social media
Updates to the website events page
Overseeing and boosting event sign-ups to ensure targets are hit
Administrative and project support
Providing support for an extensive range of meetings. This will include preparing agendas, pre-meeting briefings
and taking minutes from meetings
Answering phone queries
Inbox management
Carry out research activity and other ad hoc tasks for the General Manager as and when required
