Saturday evening, 12th June, Limerick Racecourse, superb!. A night of excellent racing in which Mr. Kevin Prendergast and young jockey Chris Hayes had a quick double, in what was overall a night for the bookies. The performance of the night must be the manner with which Spinning Wings trained by Nenagh man Tom Hogan, powered up the home straight to win effortlessly by 2 ½ lengths. A winner last time out the daughter of Spinning World may well have booked herself a ticket to Ascot on Friday 18th June.
Once the racing finished there was only time for those lucky punters to collect their winnings and return to the Munster Suite where Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club had already convened. An estimated audience of 800 race goers watched Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club perform a mouth watering set with the final tune reverberating around the grandstand shortly before 11pm. The buses waiting took the gleeful party goers to the SinBin nightclub in Howley’s Quay, Limerick.
The Twilight Series continues this Friday 18th June with the headline act, The Republic Of Loose. One of Irelands top musical performers over the past five years, having played gigs at Oxygen, T In The Park and Glastonbury, the Republic Of Loose are sure to entertain. Race goers are reminded of the excellent value in the Panoramic Restaurant at €70 and the ever popular BBQ package at €38. This week all patrons coming racing and paying the €20 admission for racing and concert will also receive a FREE €5 bet for the bookies ring.
