Mothers Day and Family Funday Limerick 30th Mar 2014

Join us for National Hunt racing from 2:20pm with 7 races on the card. The feature race includes the Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Steeplechase (Grade 2) of €37500 won by Argocat ridden by Bryan Cooper in 2013. Family Fun is the feature of the day  on Sunday 30th March 2014. The Family Fun Day will include fun for all the family with  bouncy castles, face painting, new children’s playground and also the new Cinema Club and dedicated Kidz Zone with games, activities and consoles.  Gates open at 12:30pm and families are encouraged to arrive at the racecourse early to enjoy all that is on offer! 

The annual Children’s Colouring competition in association with Whats of 4 school kids and The Woodlands House Hotel Adare invite you to entry to be in with a chance to win a family membership to the Woodlands House hotels's Leisure centre for 2 adults and 2 children - Download entry form here

General Admission is €15 per person and Family Tickets are available for €40 to include admission and Supermacs Meal Deal for a family of four.  Children will be spoiled for choice at the races and will enjoy FREE admission on the day.

How do I get to Limerick Racecourse?

Travelling from locations in Ireland - GPS: N 52.59045 W 008.69632

Limerick racecourse is located 6 miles south of Limerick City on the M20. We are located on the Annacotty to Adare bypass system that connects us to the main route to Dublin, Cork, Killarney and Shannon airport.

What time should I arrive?

It is advisable to arrive at least one hour before the advertised time of the first race. Turnstiles open approximately two hours before the first race on each race day. If you are dining in the Panoramic Restaurant or Private Suites it is advisable to arrive one hour before the start of the first race.

What facilities are there for the disabled?

Limerick Racecourse is fully equipped for people with disabilities. There is a ramp access to the main stand and 2 lifts for access to each floor. WC Facilities are available on each floor. There is also reserved car parking for the disabled.

Can I hire binoculars?

Binoculars can be hired from the Information Office at a cost of €10 per race day.

Are there ATM Facilities available?

There are no ATM facilities at Limerick Racecourse, but cash back facilities are available in the Munster Suite of the Hugh McMahon stand.

Is there medical staff at Limerick Racecourse?

Order of Malta personnel will be in attendance throughout the Races and are happy to help assist with any medical needs. They may be found in the First Aid Room beside the Stables. The racecourse doctor is in attendance on all race days.

What facilities are there at Limerick Racecourse for eating and drinking?

There are numerous restaurants and bars in the Hugh McMahon Stand. Please browse our Hospitality page for more information.

Where can I place a bet at Limerick Racecourse?

Tote facilities are available in the Hugh McMahon stand on all levels. Touch-tote facilities are also available at these locations. Ladbrokes Betting Facility is in the Tote Hall on the ground floor. You will find details of how to place a bet in your race card. You can also place a bet at any one of the bookies stalls which are located in the Bookies Ring. (Right of the Hugh McMahon Stand)

Is there a dress code at Limerick Racecourse?

 There is no dress code at Limerick Racecourse.  You may dress up or dress down, shirt and tie, slacks, old dress, new dress, hat or not, jeans and t-shirt, it doesn't matter! The most important thing is to enjoy your day at the races. But if you are looking for a chance to show off that new outfit there are prizes for the best-dressed lady on Saturday 28th December 2013.

What is the Going

The Going reports will be issued in the days prior to racing. Please keep an eye on our website for updates. 

Do I need to pre-book an adult admission ticket?

No you do not need to pre-book admission tickets as you can buy tickets at the turnstile. But if you have a group of 10 or more people, it is advisable to call us in the office on 061-320000 or email for group rates.

Is there a discount for students and O.A.P.’s?

All O.A.P.’s and students are admitted at the discounted rate with proof of a current ID at the turnstiles.

Is there a charge for children?

Children under 16 years are admitted FREE of charge to Limerick Racecourse when accompanied by an adult (I.D. will be required at the turnstiles for proof of age).

Children are only allowed in licensed premises if they are with a parent or guardian until 9pm.

What Children's entertainment is available

Children under 16 years will enjoy FREE admission to all race days at Limerick Racecourse.  Onsite playground all year round and we provide free entertainment on selected race dates - see dates here.

Bus Service

There is a dedicated bus service from Colbert Station to Limerick Racecourse on all race days. The price is €5.50 per person (Return). Please visit the website closer to each race day for a bus timetable. There is a FREE Bus to Limerick Racecourse on selected racedays. Please select the race day you wish to attend for further information.
